AppleThe Apples room is the first experience of nursery for many children. A safe place to explore, where lots of hugs and physical affection create strong relationships between nurses and 'their' children. In this room they will start to experience group singing, dancing, finger rhymes and regular story times to encourage concentration. Toys and activities are frequently changed in order to provide constant stimulation and variety, whilst daily art and messy exploration activities extend the children's experiences of texture. Early applications should be made for this room, as many children are registered before their birth!

Erin Dorricott

SophieErin is Joanne’s niece and she joined Monkton in 2018.  She had previously worked in a respected nursery setting and has achieved her NVQ3.  Erin has quickly become a strong and valued member of the team.  She is wonderful with the younger age group and popular with parents and staff alike.

"Thank you all so much for caring for M in his first year at Monkton. You all helped him when he was a bit unsettled and have helped him to love coming to nursery. Thanks for also helping me, it’s been great to have your support"

Georgia

GeorgiaGeorgia started as a trainee with us and did her NVQ2 and then her NVQ3 with us.  She has proved to be capable and impressive working with all age groups but she loves the babies!  She is now taking on a new challenge and is commencing a Degree in Health and Social Care whilst remaining at Monkton on a part time basis. Georgia is mother to Sophia.

Anna1Anna joined Monkton in 2014 having had 11 years of experience in other settings. She is qualified to NVQ Level 3 and she is a natural with babies having a calm and kind nature. We feel fortunate to have found her and look forward to keeping her for at least the next 11 years, although we will be losing her to maternity leave in 2020 as she is expecting her own first child – what a lucky baby to have this Mummy!
